Youth Tour Logo

Seven local students chosen for the trip of a lifetime this summer.

High school juniors and seniors competed in three local contests for a chance to win an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., from June 6-15. The students interviewed with a panel of judges to convincingly explain why they should represent South Plains Electric Cooperative. The students were also asked questions on their cooperative knowledge.

60 Years of Supporting 4-H Gold Star Winners

Gold Star Banquet

Every year, young adults are honored with 4-H Gold Star Awards.

District 2 held its banquet at Eberley Brooks Events on November 20 and honored a total of 25 recipients.

South Plains Electric Cooperative and other area electric cooperatives have sponsored the District 2 banquet for 60 years. South Plains Electric is honored to have the opportunity to support this outstanding group of young adults. Many of our leaders have deep roots in the 4-H program.

Thank you from students
The Operation Round Up Board of Directors initiated a program offering small, $500 grants to teachers. Grants were available to K-12 teachers in math or language arts for the 2016-2017 school year. The funds are made available by South Plains Electric members who ask to have their monthly bill rounded up to the next dollar. The extra change, averaging only $6 per year, funds projects like the teacher mini-grants, scholarships and much more.

South Plains Electric Cooperative Scores High in Recent Member Satisfaction Survey

The 2017  member survey results put SPEC in the top 2 percent of electric cooperatives nationally, a full 17 points higher than the utility industry average.
We’d like to thank our members for helping us score a “92” in the recent American Customer Satisfaction Index.
Even though ACSI recognizes “customer” satisfaction, South Plains Electric members are, in fact, “owners.” That’s an important distinction. And it’s why we strive to provide a level of service that’s second to none.
